The contract has been signed! At the headquarters of the European Outdoor Group (EOG) in Seon, Switzerland, both partners - EOG and Messe Friedrichshafen - jointly put to paper the future of OutDoor for another five years. According to this agreement, the European trade show will be held in Friedrichshafen at least until the year 2013. During a secret ballot in January, 2008, the majority of the 47 EOG members voted in favour of the venue at Friedrichshafen. read more »

Technically... Spring has Sprung, it's now light when I leave for work in the morning and when I get home at night, wonderful. To me that means Summer, but then I only believe in 2 seasons; Summer and Winter. That's need-a-coat and don't-need-a-coat weather. Walk-briskly-on-the-beach and stroll-on-the-beach weather.
So having neglected my body horrendously over the past few (12) months, I vow to get back into shape to a point where a short weekend hike won't need 2 weeks annual leave immediately afterwards to recover. So back in the gym I go. read more »

Champagne corks were popping and the entire trade show team in Friedrichshafen breathed an extremely happy sigh of relief when the news broke that OutDoor will continue to be held on the shores of Lake Constance. “Now we can carry on with the OutDoor success story,” said the overjoyed Messe Friedrichshafen CEO, Klaus Wellmann, after the European Outdoor Group (EOG) announced its decision in Munich on Wednesday. read more »

Backpack manufacturer Deuter’s Futura series is set for the future, with new load dividers, a technical look and improved carry system.
The new 2008 Futura series has a clearer structure to it, without any volume overlaps. The daypack with a hemispherical zipper comes in two versions, the Futura 22 and 28.
