The Team who are based in Torridon, Scotland are delighted that they have been chosen to receive a cheque for the amount of £1483, which was raised through Tisos’ annual Autumn/Winter lecture ticket sales. Neil Hinchcliff, Team Leader for Torridon Mountain Rescue Team says: “The team are very aware of Mick's love for, and climbing adventures in Torridon. We are delighted that he has chosen to donate the profits from his recent Tiso lecture tour to our cause. At the moment we are in full swing to try and secure a plot of land in Glen Torridon in order to build a new base. The costs involved are astronomical, and Mick's donation is likely to be put towards this project. We are most grateful for Mick's kindness”.

The lectures, themed ’Matterhorn of China – Kajaqiao’, focused on Mick’s epic 2005 expeditions across China and on the wealth of unexplored peaks to the east of the country, as well as Mick’s exploratory achievements across the globe over the last 20 years. The lectures took place in November last year over a period of 3 days and were held in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Edinburgh with almost 350 people attending.
