The new Walking jacket from Muddy Puddles is designed to provide kids with the ultimate protection against the elements. Tough enough for hiking, camping or hill-walking, it’s also ideal for school.
This 100% waterproof, windproof and breathable 3-in-1 garment comes in two parts that can be worn together or separately. The high-tech, mesh-lined outer jacket has a smart, black fleece inner jacket that can be attached or detached.
Designed by Muddy Puddles’ Founder, Susie Cullen, it comes in bright colours that can be seen from a distance in poor weather and is packed with technical features for outdoor activities.
“If kids are doing challenges such as the Duke of Edinburgh Awards or the Ten Tors, they need the right clothing to succeed,” says Susie Cullen. “This jacket will give them the best possible protection.”
The outer jacket, made from 100% polyester ripstop with breathable, waterproof lamination, has a low, shaped rear to protect the backside, with stretchy drawstrings and toggle fasteners which draw in the bottom of the jacket. The stowaway hood has a soft peak to keep off the rain and there are no shoulder seams that could chafe underneath a backpack. The strong, chunky zip opens top and bottom for adjustable ventilation and a two-flap storm placket keeps out wind and rain. Three zipped outer pockets and one zipped inner pocket are also provided.
The inner jacket is a high quality, micro-filament, thick polyester fleece with two zipped pockets and a YKK zip similar to the outer jacket.
The Walking Jacket comes in red with black or royal blue with black including black fleece inner, priced £55. It is available in sizes 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 years.
New walking trousers are also available. These matching high-spec walking trousers are fully waterproof and breathable. Long zips go all the way from ankle to knee, so they’re easy to get on and off, even with boots on. The waist is elasticated for comfort, and can be tightened with a quick-release toggle, so there’s no danger of your child getting caught out by a knot that they can’t undo in a hurry!
