Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus - Number 26

Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus - Number 26 - Marino CurnisPeace and Quiet are at the present my travelling companions. ''Happy like an Easter'' (Italian saying) at Christmas :)

I joined Marco Polo's steps from Refahiye to Erzurum (from where I'm writing), which I am now leaving to reach Iraq. I'm going to meet them again in Tabriz, Iran (if I get the visa).

Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus - Number 26 - TrailerI'm walking full of that kind of proper happiness like people who are living the life they chose, who are realising their Dreams. Mountains covered by snow that I stomp (I'm around 2000 metres above sea level), make this Peace even higher.

My lonely walking (presently 40-50 kms everyday), is sometimes followed by a pack of dogs (wolves I had only heard until now), and they elect me their leader during some of the kilometres. In these last few days, between one interview and another, I even met the 'Wizard Kings', going towards Bethlehem, in the opposite direction to mine. I am walking towards their motherland, Iran (provided that I get the visa).

'Selam Alekum', then! It’s my best wish of Peace for us, for the next year 2007!!!

The Project: To go on foot, "pedibus calcantibus", from Italy to Japan and back, going through 26 nations of Eurasia (Europe and Asia), in 5 years and covering 40.500 kilometres.

About Marino Curnis

Biography

Marino Curnis had an idea: to spend time walking around the planet, simply savouring people, places, flavours, smells and events that make it so unbelievably attractive. To fulfil a kid's dream, inspired by the ancient Silk Route, by the great Explorers, such as the world famous Marco Polo and by the route of an ancient conqueror, Alexander the Great. His aim is to send out a messagge about Peace and Solidarity for difference.
