Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus - Number 8

"Salut"! Forgive my long silence, but I was in... testing. I better explain. Everyone of you knows about my misadventure with Rocinante and about the substitution with a normal backpack. Unfortunately this new way of travelling immediately reveals itself intolerable, so I thought a solution that could have been definitive, at least till the first border. But it wasn't.

Mosho is the 5 years old donkey that helps me during three days, before beginning mad for work. When I bought it in Sadu, it was immediately clear to me that it was a little bit pampered. But nor the price (10 millions Lei), that I discover later it was too much, makes me change my mind. So me and my purchase went the first day studying each other, the second as perfect lovers, the third...we hate reciprocally. Entering in Curtea de Arges, in fact, this coward donkey stopped in the middle of a tunnel 2 km before our destination, and there's no chance move it for one hour both with good nor bad (and I say bad!) manners. Then it's my time begin crazy, and I beat it a lot (I even break a stick on its ass), and I pull it out of the tunnel. After, only the help from some kids lets get me Curtea de Arges Primaria (townhall) where someone waits for me.
There I was introduced to my hosts, the Cristescus, that lives in a farm-like on the near hills.

Having the chance speaking Spanish with their daughter Amalia, that studies it in Bucharest's University, I make a new decision. Even for only 2 millions Lei, I sell Mosho to her father (because it cannot support me as I hoped, and ecause I don't like beat somewhat that cannot understand why I'm beating it). Then, thanks to kind Amalia, I leave her a part of my equipment, so to "fly" lighter towards Bucharest, where an esperantist friend, Sorin Porupca, is waiting for me. Said and done. In 4 days and 157 kms I reach Bucharest, where I can get again
my baggage thanks to the girl and her brother Cosmin.

On the while, my dear sister Fiorenza, that follows some things of mine from home, advised me that a strengthened piece of the Wheelpacker came from U.S.A., so that, wonderful surprise, Rocinante will be again by my side, entering together with me in Bulgaria, fifth nation of this never boring adventure!

I get this chance, waiting for write to you again, to thank anyone of you and the Romanians friends for continue and welcome fondness reserved for me. In Romania I could again touch with hand the not grounding of "ethnic-cultural" prejudices: the Italians ones about Romanians, that we think not good persons (and trust me, I met dear "cousins" in the beautiful Romania); and the Romanians ones, that think gypsies are gangsters e wretches (a fame that
unfortunately they have all over Europe). I'm going to tell you more on my book :)

I wanna thank also Lizard because of the best support, the beautiful idea about postcards, and for sent the excellent Five Fingers, special shoes that wear the foot as a glove, giving the feeling of a naked but protected foot. And the ones that love like I do the freedom of soul and body, can only appreciate this kind of footwear! That's all from Bucarest! "Sanitate"!

P.S.: Cristescus said to me that poor Mosho had a serious matter for refuse to move itself. In fact, its equipment to transport material wound it preventing it make its duty. So, public excuses to it from its unable past owner!

The Project: To go on foot, "pedibus calcantibus", from Italy to Japan and back, going through 26 nations of Eurasia (Europe and Asia), in 5 years and covering 40.500 kilometres.
