Like a modern Odysseus powerless against these quirks but resolute going on towards gasped destination, I leave with a little bit of sadness the Crimean coasts, that was for me during some days, rest’s place, island of hospitable Kalipso.
Like a modern Odysseus I come back to my destiny, a little following it, a bit defying it. This time Poseidon, hurt by my choice coasting on foot one of his seas, didn’t forgive me and punish my temerity (by his point of view sacrilegious fling his trident at me, open a wound deep inside my heart. Like a modern Odysseus.
Because Russia instigated by the god denied me a permit to walk along its territory, defeated and sad I set off for Istanbul on the deck of this ship. Like a modern Odysseus I go on and on in spite of sirens and cyclops sure that one day I get my point, comforted at the thought that my beloved Penelope waits for me home.
Painful and sadly bitter this little defeat suffered by “Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibusâ€: even a stroll on this Planet is barred by infamy and playing of the powerful. But this punishment inflected on me unjustly and inertly accepted, will calm down in the end the anger of the god, and will allow me take again that life I choose and that I can continuously dream with staring eyes on horizon over there, my next adventure, my future destination: Turkey.
The Project: To go on foot, "pedibus calcantibus", from Italy to Japan and back, going through 26 nations of Eurasia (Europe and Asia), in 5 years and covering 40.500 kilometres.
