In spite of my wishes, in spite of my will, even in spite of the message of Peace by Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus, bureaucracy opposes my travel, wanting it to conform to imposed standards, or even stopping it. After over one year of walking along 6,000 kms and through 9 nations (Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey; walking the coast of Black Sea in Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine – stopped by the Russians from walking through their land – continuing from Turkey to Iran), Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus faces umpteenth obstacles in Tehran.

I went here (by bus because of short Iranian visa), to get visas for the following 5 nations on my project (Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kirgizistan and China). But bureaucrats of the planet didn’t foresee travels on foot, nor that one could carry his own responsibility for every risk. They only foresaw short visits by fast means of transport and transit (few days) or tourist visa (about 30 days), or special visas only for businessmen (because power and economy move together). Also Italian politicians and diplomats (whom I addressed many times hoping to get help), are not outside this matter (except little exceptions: the ex-President of the Republic Hon.Carlo Azeglio Ciamp gave to Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus by his secretary a medal; the chief of Italian Consulate in Ankara Mr. Enrico Mora and his staff permitted an extension and facilities to my Travel in Turkey). Even letters of introduction – too aseptic and formal – from the Italian embassy in Tehran, didn’t offer me the chance to me explain the way, details and messages of Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus to the various consulates, that “archived” me with forms and normal procedure. Because of this, I should (I don’t want to stoop to their low level nor my Planet, nor my Dreams), stop the Travel.

The essence of this journey, that is not only to move on foot, but also to bring a message of Peace. That essense invites us to keep our own time and space (our Earth!), against this ludicrous bureaucracy, against useless political borders, those who oppose peace in the World. That essense says the planet is our own and we have to maintain it in our hands, above every border. Cultural differences (languages and traditions) are to know and respect each other if we really want peace. A travel that insists for communication between people, by spreading the international language Esperanto, that puts us side by side not one over other languages and dialects. This is Eurasia Pedibus Calcantibus! During the times of Marco Polo it was enough to pay for entry, and get at the same time protection from the Lords of the Earth. Today they ask for a tax (standard as the Age of consumerism would like for all), without offering any service in exchange from the state that receives the money.

BUT BEFORE A SOUR SURRENDER, I’m asking your help for continue freedom-full dreaming.
