About Dave Mayo

Biography

Dave is a professionally qualified and experienced trainer who runs his own training and consultancy company called Chase Training Solutions. Specialising in customised training for the voluntary, statutory and private sectors, the company delivers a variety of training packages that include; Effective Communication; Personal Development; Team Building; Management Training; Leadership Development; Problem Solving; Youth Work Skills; Outdoor Activities and much more....

Dave also delivers a number of courses on behalf of Sports Leaders UK including the Level 2 Award in Basic Expedition Leadership. The Award is intended to provide a common foundation leading to the training and coaching schemes of the National Governing Bodies concerned with outdoor pursuits. It is a nationally recognised qualification that local authorities and statutory/ voluntary organisations accept when taking groups into lowland areas.

Holding professional qualifications in youth work and having over 25 years experience of running Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions at all levels, both within the UK and abroad, the success of the Open Gold weeks that Dave organises can be attributed to many things, however, ultimately, the week not only offers young people the opportunity to complete their Expedition Section of the Gold Award, but an ‘all round’ positive residential experience that illustrates youth work practice at its best and this is reflected by the positive comments received from the 50+ young people who attend each year, their Award leaders and parents.
