The Future looks bright with Futura and Futura Pro

Backpack manufacturer Deuter’s Futura series is set for the future, with new load dividers, a technical look and improved carry system.

The new 2008 Futura series has a clearer structure to it, without any volume overlaps. The daypack with a hemispherical zipper comes in two versions, the Futura 22 and 28. The hiking backpack with lid flap and lid compartment comes in two unisex versions (Futura 26 and 32) plus two SL models (Futura 24 SL and 30 SL).

New arrivals to the series come in the form of the Futura Pro models. With the Futura Pro 34 SL, the Pro 38 and the Pro 42, the Futura series has gone up another notch on the technical scale, partly due to the new Deuter styling but also thanks to solid detailing.

The core feature of the backpacks is the new frame concept with innovative hip fins. The frame construction provides a definitive fit in the lumbar and hip regions, which makes for a stable carry. The VariFlex hip fins are now mobile, ensuring the backpacks sit securely, even over steep ground, and offer more freedom of movement. People with narrow hips also benefit from this new development. Further up the line, there are still the two adjustable backpacks, the Futura Vario 40+10 and 50+10.

Both the Futura and Futura Pro models are now also made from new 210 Denier Ripstop Nylon. It is less bulky and therefore weighs less than its predecessors.
