Technically... Spring has Sprung, it's now light when I leave for work in the morning and when I get home at night, wonderful. To me that means Summer, but then I only believe in 2 seasons; Summer and Winter. That's need-a-coat and don't-need-a-coat weather. Walk-briskly-on-the-beach and stroll-on-the-beach weather.
So having neglected my body horrendously over the past few (12) months, I vow to get back into shape to a point where a short weekend hike won't need 2 weeks annual leave immediately afterwards to recover. So back in the gym I go.
Started last week on the treadmill and ran for a half hour in my lunch break in the gym opposite my office. To be honest it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I certainly am not in as bad a shape as I was when I started in the gym in January last year. Have been eating very healthily (GI diet) and cheating lots (Malteasers, Left over Easter Egg, Coffee etc) but I managed to lose 2lbs. Back to the gym again today, ran harder this week, and I feel good for it. Well good and bad, I mean my knees hurt, but I don't blame them, they are carrying a lot of weight!
